November 14, 2020, China's Hospital Rankings 2019 and China's Hospital Reputation Rankings by Department 2019 were released by Fudan University in Shanghai. Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology ranks 10th on the comprehensive ranking list, two spots higher than last year (2018)!

Nuclear Medicine, Cardiovascular Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Haematology, Otorhinolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Ultrasonography and Gastroenterology are No. 1 in central China, while Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Clinical Pharmacy, Emergency Medicine and Dermatology are No. 1 in Hubei Province.
Union Hospital has mapped out plans to develop high-quality departments and created hospital department evaluation system in recent years. Based on the results of performance evaluation, a grant is earmarked every year, to boost scientific planning and sustainable development of the departments and offer vital support to the development of the hospital.
