Professor WANG Guobin, president of Wuhan Union Hospital and Professor WANG Hongbo, vice-chairman of Wuhan Union Hospital visited Potland and Israel for talent recruitment with the Hubei delegation of government officials from July 29 to August 2.
On July 30, Prof. WANG Guobin and Prof. WANG Hongbo visited the Ludwik Rydygier Provincial Polyclinical Hospital in Torun, Poland accompanied by a government official from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region. They were warmly welcomed by the Provincial Polyclinical Hospital in Torun and impressed by the in-depth academic exchange with doctor representatives of the hospital. Both sides delivered a full presentation of their hospitals and discussed potential cooperative areas in accordance to their mutual interests such as staff exchange, student training and medical and scientific collaboration. Both sides agreed to begin the cooperation from the fields of General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In the afternoon of August 1, the Hubei delegation visited Israel Institute of Technology and met Professor Aaron Ciechanover, who won the Nobel prize in Chemistry in 2004. During the meeting, Prof. WANG Guobin sent a sincere invitation to Prof. Aaron Ciechanover and expressed his expectation to facilitate further cooperation between Prof. Aaron and Wuhan Union Hospital in scientific research. Prof. Aaron talked about his experience in Wuhan and his willingness to conduct academic exchange with the Union Hospital in the future. The Hubei Provincial and Wuhan Municipal governments will help create good condition and give supports to the bilateral cooperation.
The Department of Human Resources and Office of International Exchanges of Wuhan Union Hospital did a lot of preparation for the visit.
