Brief Introduction: The center has gathered a group of experts with significant academic influence in the field of clinical research on anesthesia and treatment of critical diseases and has laid a solid foundation for carrying out large-scale clinical research and promoting research results. The center has undertaken 37 research projects, including NSFC projects, served as the chief editor of the authoritative reference books on anesthesia, such as Modern Anesthesiology (5thEdition) and Management of Anesthesiology, the five-year planning textbook Clinical Anesthesiology, and the standardized training textbook for resident doctorsAnesthesiology, translated more than 20 reference books on anesthesia, including Theory and Practice of Obstetric Anesthesiology, published more than 700 papers, including more than 300 SCI papers (e.g. The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, European Heart Journal, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, etc.),won more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and obtained more than 20 patents.
Research Directions: The center is committed to screening the risk factors of vital organs such as heart, lung and brain during the perioperative period, establishing an early warning model, and optimizing the regulation and protection measures for organ functions during the perioperative period. It aims at optimized management of critical patients such as cardiovascular and organ transplantation, clinical research on labor analgesia and other comfort medical treatment, clinical translational medicine research on anesthesia, evidence-based medicine research with establishment of clinical database, and basic and clinical research on critical care medicine and pain science.
Achievements: The key research is focused on the perioperative life function regulation, resulted in outstanding achievements in optimizing the management of important organs such as heart, lung and brain, and won a number of ministerial and provincial awards. Series of achievements have been realized the clinical transformation, such as visual laryngoscope, AI anesthesia, and perioperative anesthesia evaluation and decision support system. The center is taking a leading position with respect to labor analgesia in China, which established a large domestic anesthetic database, published high-level academic papers in New England, The Lancet and other journals, and participated in the writing of multiple domestic and foreign expert consensuses.
